This episode is part of a series I’m doing to give you an over the shoulder view of how to earn income from original music step by step. All the info is taken directly from what I experience while doing it for myself. If you want a quick intro to each step, click here to read the overview article where I explain everything.
Today’s guest is Alex Mitchell. He’s a musician, and his first gig was for 9 people (he was one of those people). Alex knows that the hardest thing to do as an artist today is to find an audience. That’s why he co-founded Audiokite Research. He wanted to know if it was truly possible to grow an audience from the ground up.
This is a great follow-up to our last episode, MMP022, when James Taylor came on the show to talk about music marketing. Personally, I don’t think it’s a good idea to market music until research has been done. There are too many variables. You’re guessing, hoping your music will get heard. That’s not good. And that’s why I’m excited about today’s episode because Alex explains a proven way to write better songs that will have you marketing your music like a pro.
